The state of Florida was one of the first states to enact a law on dogs in restaurants in 2006. Ever since it passed, a restaurant can apply for a permit to allow dogs in the outdoor dining spaces. That’s great news for you and your furry friend! If you live in Rivington, you’re a short drive from quite a few places where your entire family is welcomed to eat and drink, including those with paws. Some of our favorites include:

Genuine Bistro & Lounge

This is an American style bistro that offers varied cuisine, from seafood to burgers and more. There is a full bar, live music on Friday and Saturday nights, and dog-friendly outdoor seating. Bring your dog, order some fried calamari, and enjoy the band. Talk about a great Friday night!

Swamp House Riverfront Grill

The St. Johns  River is one of the most beautiful places in the area. If you’re in the mood for burgers, wings, and other traditional American food, you’re going to love this spot. They grill everything fresh with chopped wood, making it extra delicious. Pets are allowed on the patio at all times, however, the outdoor service is available only on the weekends. If you bring your dog Monday through Friday, you can order your food “to go” and enjoy the view of the river while out on the dog-friendly patio. 

Anthony’s Pizza and Italian Restaurant

You can’t go wrong with pizza! Anthony’s serves delicious Italian food in a casual neighborhood setting. Beyond pizza, you can feast on calzones, stromboli, hot and cold subs, stuffed shells, baked ziti, chicken parmigiana, and so much more. For dessert, you can get New York style cheesecake and tiramisu. Outside, you’ll find dog-friendly tables. It’s no wonder this is such a popular place, for those who have dogs or who simply love good Italian food!

If there’s one thing Floridians love more than sunshine and their dogs, it’s sports. Shotz Sports Bar & Grill is open daily from 11am to 2am, virtually guaranteeing you can watch whatever sporting event you’ve been looking forward to. They have several pet-friendly outdoor tables so your dog can have a good time too.
